It started with a simple question.

“What are people actually building in n8n?”

I was working on a tutorial about AI automation, and I wanted to know what was actually trending in the n8n community. Simple curiosity. The kind that makes you open the marketplace and start clicking around.

That was three months ago.

Since then, I’ve scraped over 6,000 workflows from the n8n marketplace, discovered that HTTP Request nodes appear in 73% of all workflows, fine-tuned Llama 3 8B on workflow data after Mistral failed spectacularly, and now I’ve deployed the whole thing as a web app that anyone can use.

This is the story of how that happened. And more importantly, why this is where the story ends.

Not because I ran out of ideas. Not because I got bored. But because I’ve answered the question I set out to answer, and sometimes that’s enough.
